Ghislaine Maxwell sued by her defence team
Ghislaine Maxwell is being sued by Denver based Law Firm Haddon, Morgan and Foreman. The Firm claims it is owed $878,000 for Ghislaine Maxwell’s defence in connection with helping the financier Jeffrey Epstein abuse underage girls.
Haddon, Morgan and Foreman began representing Ghislaine Maxwell in a lawsuit brought by Virginia Giuffre in 2015. The Firm has represented other high-profile clients including Kobe Bryant.
In December 2021 Ghislaine Maxwell was found guilty of sex trafficking, transporting a minor to participate in illegal sex acts and two conspiracy charges. She was sentenced in June to 20 years in prison and is serving time at FCI Tallahassee
Highway Code: UK drivers warned over four driving law changes in the UK.
Drivers are urged to keep up to date with the latest changes or risk fines.

Mobile Phone Usage
It is now illegal for UK motorists to use their mobile phones for any purpose, even when stopped at a red light. Those caught could be landed with a £200 fine and six points on their licence. New drivers ie those who have passed their test within two years could lose their licence entirely.
Clean Air Zones / Low Emission Zones
Several cities across the UK including Bristol, Manchester and Newcastle have introduced Clean Air Zones / Low Emission Zones to help the air quality in the local area and reduce harmful emissions. Check the type and age of your vehicle to see if you will be charged a fee for travelling within the Clean Air Zone.
Speed Limiters
All new cars are to be fitted with a speed limiter which will restrict the engine power. Drivers will still be held responsible for sticking to the speed limit. The speed limiters are designed to improve road safety and are another step forward in the development of self-driving cars in the UK.
Transporting goods into Europe
Drivers will now need a licence to carry goods for hire/reward into the EU or Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. The standard international goods vehicle licence will be required for light good vehicles, vans, and cars/vans towing trailers.
Parking not fine

Whilst I champion advances in technology I am also passionate about righting wrongs. It is clearly wrong if – as Yasmin and many others suggest – the requirement to use apps to pay for parking is making parking “stressful .. and at times impossible” . It is essential that technology is our servant not our master. As always, widespread adoption of new technology is achieved by flattening the learning curve. Technology could and should make our lives easier, not harder. Until that is the case, Councils and private car park companies must keep the traditional payment methods as an alternative.
Nick Kyrgios sued by woman he accused of having ‘700 drinks’
Aussie bad boy of tennis, Nick Kyrgios is being sued for defamation by the woman he had thrown out Centre Court during the men’s Wimbledon final.
Polish medical lawyer Ania Palus, 32, was removed during the Grand Slam final after Nick Kyrgios claimed she was putting him off.
During the 3rd set against eventual champion Novak Djokovic Kyrgios complained to the umpire that Ania Palus was putting him off and must have had “700 drinks”. Kyrgios he wanted her removed.
Ania Palus denies she was drunk. In a statement Palus says: “I attended the final of the Wimbledon tennis championships with my mother. It was an event we had been looking forward to for some time. During the course of the final, Nick Kyrgios made a reckless and entirely baseless allegation against me. Not only did this cause considerable harm on the day, resulting in my temporary removal from the arena, but Mr Kyrgios’ false allegation was broadcast to, and read by, millions around the world, causing me and my family very substantial damage and distress. I have concluded that I have no alternative but to instruct my solicitors Brett Wilson LLP to bring defamation proceedings against Mr Kyrgios in order to clear my name.”
ON YOUR MARKS – USAIN BOLT APPLIES FOR TRADE MARK FOR SIGNATURE POSE
Iconic Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt has applied for a Trade Mark in the US for his signature victory pose.
“The silhouette of a man in a distinctive pose, with one arm bent and pointing to the head, and the other arm raised and pointing upward”.
According to the filing Usain Bolt intends to use the mark on various items including clothing, jewellery and shoes, as well as restaurants and sports bars.
